Hunter Q. Kirkland, M.D., is a Texas native, originally from Austin. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed his residency in General Surgery at Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina. He then completed his fellowship at Texas Heart Institute in Houston. Dr. Kirkland has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 2005.
He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and board eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Kirkland specializes in adult Cardiac and Thoracic surgery.
He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Denton A. Cooley Cardiovascular Surgical Society, and the Houston Surgical Society.
