Andrew T. Hume, M.D., is originally from Jackson, Mississippi. He received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson and completed both his residency in General Surgery and in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. During both residencies, Dr. Hume was chosen chief resident. He has been practicing with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1996.
He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Hume specializes in adult Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery including heart transplantation, mitral valve repair and (VATS) Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery.
He is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Parkland Surgical Society, Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.
