Phillip J. Church, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas. His fellowship in Vascular Surgery was completed at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Church has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1981.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He also holds a certificate of Special Qualifications in General Vascular Surgery.

Since his arrival in Austin, Dr. Church has been appointed to numerous academic assignments including Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas and San Antonio. He has also served as president of the Travis County Medical Society. He is an active member of the Parkland Surgical Society, Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society, Texas Medical Association, San Antonio Vascular Society, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
