Staton L. Awtrey, M.D., is from Corsicana, Texas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Arizona School of Medicine in Tucson and then completed his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. Dr. Awtrey practiced in Charleston, West Virginia for four years before joining Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons in 1999.
Dr. Awtrey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He specializes in all areas of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery.
He is an active member of the Texas Medical Association, Travis County Medical Society and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
